It makes loud repeated calls. Its breeding season in between April and July. 2 to 4 eggs are laid in each nest. These toes enable the bird to walk on leaves of water lilies and floating grass while searching for food. They eat small creatures, snails, fish, insects, moss and some other water plants. They live in and around lakes where there are water lilies and grasses. Their eggs hatch with the onset of the rainy season, Jacanas can be found in the lakes and wetland areas throughout Myanmar. Pheasant-tailed Jacana that has a long tail and similar habits is another species of Jacana. |  |
