There are several species. The chameleon is related to the iguana, ground lizard etc. It has bulging eyes. It can change its skin colour due to the change of weather or when frightened. When the rainy season begins, male chameleons have blue-green heads. It catches insects and other small creatures with its sticky tongue. Another similar type locally called “Tet-tu”is found in central Myanmar.

Habitat: Throughout the country.
